Shiberse vs. Decentraland

The meme coin Shiba Inu has unfurled its virtual real estate ‘Shiba Lands’ in an attempt to enter the metaverse in 2022. Soon, the new real estate will be available for public auction or purchase. SHIB token holders will be able to own a piece of the Shiberse metaverse in this new venture. Meanwhile, the meme coin has yet to prove the benefits of owning land in its metaverse. So far, the project has stated that people who own land in Shiba Real Estate will reap numerous benefits. But the real question is whether Shiberse or everyone’s favorite Decentraland is the superior metaverse platform.

Shiberse Metaverse

Shiberse is the Shiba Inu meme currency’s metaverse, which will serve as a meeting place for owners of this digital token, with games and possibly virtual land and non-fungible tokens (NFTs). The Metaverse is the Shiba Inu ecosystem’s own metaverse space, which developer Eric M describes as a place where our community, tokens, game, ShibaSwap, and way more will meet together.

It will be hosted on SHIB.io and will feature 100,595 plots of land for sale. These will all be plotted on the metaverse map, with streets bearing Shiba-related names. The metaverse land will also contribute to the SHIB burn through a renaming process similar to the Shiboshi NFT burns. Shiboshi NFT holders will have access to an exclusive area of the metaverse known as the Shiboshi Zone.

Decentraland

LAND is a non-fungible digital asset held in an Ethereum smart contract that represents the finite, traversable, 3D virtual space within Decentraland. The land is divided into parcels, each of which is identified by cartesian coordinates (x,y). The community members possess these parcels in perpetuity and can be acquired with MANA, Decentraland’s cryptocurrency token. This provides users with complete control over the environments and applications they create, which can range from static 3D scenes to more interactive applications or games.

Some parcels are subdivided further into themed communities or Districts. The community can create shared spaces with common interests and uses by organizing parcels into Districts. On GitHub, you can find a list of the original District Proposals. Decentraland’s content is stored and distributed through a decentralized network, while ownership and transactions are validated on the Ethereum blockchain.
