On Saturday night, Elon Musk, the CEO of SpaceX and Tesla, announced plans to launch Baby Grok, a kid-friendly variant of the AI chatbot Grok.
Through X, the former DOGE chief announced, “We’re going to make Baby Grok @xAI, an app dedicated to kid-friendly content.”
According to reports, Baby Grok is a kid-friendly variant of the well-known Grok AI chatbot that Musk previously created through his xAI firm. It should not be confused with cryptocurrency (BABYGROK) that runs on the Ethereum blockchain.
It will be designed for safe and instructive interactions with kids and is anticipated to be a simplified version of the Grok AI chatbot. The news comes just after xAI launched Grok4, which has increased training capabilities, according to Musk’s comments on a livestream.
He believes it may uncover breakthrough technologies as early as later this year. And he’d be surprised if it didn’t happen again next year. So Musk mentioned during a livestream that he expects Grok to truly uncover new technologies that are actually helpful no later than next year, and maybe by the end of this year.
Additionally, the upgrade was released soon after the bot received criticism for posting several unprompted antisemitic remarks on X.
Musk also received criticism for Ani, one of Grok’s earliest user modes, which had flirty language and a provocative image, causing concerns from users that children might still engage with the bot in “kids mode.”
