An expert in cryptocurrency, Arthur Hayes, is cautioning that after the 2024 election, American voters who are interested in policies that support cryptocurrency will probably not care about them.
According to a recent post by Hayes, pro-crypto supporters should advocate for regulation with the present government before the November election if they want regulatory clarity in the US. All crypto rules, according to Hayes, ought to prioritize respect for free speech.
Tokens and cryptographic currency that run on a blockchain are examples of protected speech. Cryptocurrency users and intermediaries are subject to all applicable laws protecting free speech. Any legislation or regulation that makes it harder for a person or legally recognized organization to possess or transfer cryptocurrency is not relevant.
Hayes also claims that industry supporters will lose their influence since lawmakers won’t need their support if legislative clarity for cryptocurrencies isn’t established before November.
Crypto supporters have no influence after the election. The congresspeople elected to two-year terms will be the main focus of the next election, which is two years away.
As the bulk of elected politicians within each party’s party and their chances of reelection are unaffected by crypto policies, neither Biden nor Trump will invest the same political capital in favor of them.
Remember that the drumbeat of war will pick up speed after the election. Biden’s desire to keep oil prices down before election day is the only reason that the US and NATO haven’t taken more direct aim at Iran and Russia. During his first administration, Qasem Soleimani, the head of the IRGC, was killed by Trump. At Israel’s command, he will bomb Iran without hesitation. In other words, if bombs start exploding, the topic of cryptocurrency and monetary freedom will be rapidly forgotten.
