Dogecoin rival Shiba Inu has become the most popular cryptocurrency on Twitter, according to research firm ICO Analytics in its recent report. The analytics company shared data for October showing Ether, Bitcoin and Dogecoin occupying second, third and fourth positions respectively in Twitter’s popularity index. In fact, the report states that while SHIB’s Twitter popularity share was 22%, Bitcoin’s was significantly less than 8.1%. The development appears to have added another feather to the roof of the Shiba Inu memecoin, marketed as Dogecoinkiller.
According to the chart shared by ICO Analytics, Safemoon, Solana, Cardano and Binance tokens were also among the ten most talked about cryptocurrencies on Twitter. But none of the cryptocurrencies even came close to SHIB’s popularity.
As the world’s first and second most popular cryptocurrencies, Bitcoin and Ether, were trading at prices close to or close to their all-time highs on Wednesday, Shiba Inu was trading at $ 0.00005395 (around Rs. ) per token., CoinMarketCap data reveal. 25, dogcoin rose 50% in value and registered as the 11th largest cryptocurrency coin by market value.
In recent days, SHIB supporters have made their voices heard on social media platforms, with the token being directly opposed to Dogecoin. Supporters use hashtags like #SHIBARMY #ShibaSwap #shibainu and #SHIB to get support from Shina Inu on Twitter.
Earlier this month, the US CEO of AMC Theaters posted a poll on Twitter asking people if SHIB should be accepted as a payment option for movie tickets. Of the 1,53,100 votes obtained by the poll, 81.4% of the accounts voted “yes” in favor of the SHIB token.
Released in August 2020, the Shiba Inu token was created by someone under the pseudonym Ryoshi. Inspired by Dogecoin, the SHIB token mascot is a cartoon representation of a dog face belonging to the Japanese Shiba Inu breed.
According to CoinMarketCap, the SHIB token is currently held by 942,941 wallets, of which 14,645 are active addresses. The supply limit for the SHIB token is one quadrillion and the token is under development.
