The SEC had best move quickly if it plans to appeal the verdict from last week’s Ripple lawsuit. This is according to Bill Hughes, the regulatory chief at Ethereum supporter ConsenSys and one among the many experts in crypto policy evaluating the effects of U.S. district judge Analisa Torres’ ruling. According to Hughes, a variety of considerations influence the regulatory body’s decision to appeal, including the likelihood that the current Supreme Court will be harsh on Gary Gensler’s assessment of how to oversee cryptocurrency. Of course, a political calculation is also at work, and suddenly, there are a number of cryptocurrency-related laws and amendments available for consideration by American legislators. How will it proceed?
