Google Cloud Grows Partner Ecosystem

Google Cloud is one of the most powerful cloud computing platforms out there, but it wouldn’t be what it is without the expertise of Google LLC’s extensive partner ecosystem.

In recent years, Google Cloud has massively expanded this ecosystem with regular announcements of new third-party integrations, services, and solutions in a variety of industries and technologies. So it’s no wonder that Google Cloud is expanding its ecosystem even further, with 20+ new and expanded partnerships announced today on Google Cloud Next ’21.

Google said the new partnerships cover five strategic focus areas, including unified data delivery, analytics and artificial intelligence, an area that is of great importance to any cloud provider as it makes sense that any company using the cloud should want to be able to access, analyze and use all of your data in one place.

To this end, Google is working with several large big data players, including Databricks Inc., which has been providing its data analysis platform via the Google Cloud since the beginning of this year. Now, Google said it is adding support for additional services, including Databricks, SQL and Databricks-Photon.

Google expands its partnerships in the big data market with companies such as Fivetran Inc., a provider of data integration, and adds new popular database and application pipelines to Google BigQuery’s analytics service.

Meanwhile, Informatica LLC is expanding its partnership with Google Cloud to help customers accelerate the migration of data-driven workloads, while Trifacta Inc., calling itself a data fighter, enriches its BigQuery extraction, transformation, and loading capabilities Shorten the timeframe for designing and running big data pipelines.

Google also announced a new partnership with data intelligence company Collibra NV, bringing that company’s data quality services to the Google Cloud. Customers can combine Google Cloud Dataproc with Collibra Data Intelligence Cloud to enable higher quality data pipelines and analytics.

In the infrastructure sector, Google is expanding its ongoing partnership with NetApp Inc. Through the collaboration, NetApp will provide the infrastructure for Google Cloud’s new distributed cloud-hosted service that brings Google’s cloud to customers’ data centers. Meanwhile, Elastic NV and MongoDB Inc. announced the general availability of support for Google Private Service Connect, which provides a secure connection to the Google Cloud that bypasses the public Internet.

On the security side, Google, in partnership with cybersecurity providers CrowdStrike Holdings Inc. and Palo Alto Networks Inc., announced the launch of its new Work Safer program, Legacy Technology.

Another Google cybersecurity partner, Cybereason Inc., said its Extended Detection and Response service is now integrated with Google Chronicle’s security analytics tool, enabling customers to automate common attack prevention, security operations assistance and incident response, and conduct the threat search more precisely, Google said.

Finally, there’s sustainability, which Google is a growing concern with the latest announcements. To help companies and governments expand and accelerate data-driven sustainability initiatives, Google works with organizations such as CartoDB Inc., Climate Engine, GeoTab Inc., NGIS Australia International (Aust) Pty Ltd. and Planet are working together to deliver core satellite-related applications such as images, demographics, mobility and telematics in Google Cloud so they can be deployed on a larger scale.

Google is also offering its customers an easier way to track emissions across their cloud platform and across the company by integrating their carbon footprint tool with Salesforce.com Inc.’s Sustainability Cloud so they can track their carbon footprints can track.
