Ethereum raises Bug Bounties ahead of the Merge

The Ethereum Foundation has released a new blog post ahead of the major network upgrade scheduled for next month. The team said all merger-related vulnerability bounties will be quadrupled until September 8. Crucial bugs are now worth up to $1 million.

With the mergeEthereum will transition to proof-of-stake and mining will no longer be possible on the network. The merger is scheduled between September 10 and 20. Before the event, Ethereum must first be used with the Bellatrix upgrade.

For Ether holders or users of Ethereum-based decentralized applications, the foundation says they don’t have to do anything. The team also warned users not to check sources for instructions or recommendations if they receive notifications on their app, exchange or wallet.

Ether is currently trading at around $1,700. In the past 24 hours, the coin has risen by 3%.
