Modi also said his government created a new ministry of co-operatives to turn co-operatives into “successful trading companies.” The prime minister said new cooperation policies and tax incentives would give co-operatives more impetus to create wealth and jobs.

The Modi government is funding a larger private investment in agriculture. However, after a year of protest, three agricultural market reform laws had to be abolished.

Prime Minister Modi also said that as part of Prime Minister Gati Shakti’s plans, a new logistics arrangement for the transportation of agricultural products will be made. He added that the coalition’s budget aims to “better organize agricultural waste management and increase farmers’ income through waste-to-energy solutions.”
